TON Ecosystem Will Support Tron Blockchain

A wallet within The Open Network (TON) ecosystem has announced its support for crypto assets on the Tron blockchain.

On September 23, MyTonWallet, a self-custodial wallet, revealed plans to integrate Tron, enabling support for assets on its network, including Tron’s native token, USDT, and other TRC-20 tokens.

The MyTonWallet team emphasized that they are the first in the TON ecosystem to support Tron-based assets.

The team views this as a foundational step toward blockchain interoperability.

MyTonWallet founder Alexander Zinchuk highlighted the importance of managing assets across different chains for users, stating that this integration marks the beginning of broader cross-chain capabilities.

Zinchuk also noted that this move could enhance adoption within the TON ecosystem, as connecting with major networks like Tron could expand TON's audience and improve accessibility.

Additionally, MyTonWallet plans to further develop its cross-chain functionality, with a focus on enabling swaps and adding support for other blockchains like Solana and Ethereum in the future.

This announcement comes amid a larger push for blockchain interoperability in the crypto space.

On August 6, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin announced upcoming plans to address interoperability issues on the Ethereum blockchain, hinting that the solution might surprise people.

On September 18, decentralized exchange aggregator 1inch network introduced “Fusion+,” a cross-chain swap solution that combines on-chain and off-chain liquidity.

The feature uses atomic swap technology to ensure "all-or-nothing" transactions, ensuring that if a swap fails, all funds are returned to the original holder.

Meanwhile, core Bitcoin developer Jeff Garzik launched a protocol designed to connect the Bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains through a feature called tunneling.

The Hemi Network team claims that tunneling allows Bitcoin and Ethereum to work together while avoiding the risks associated with traditional bridge technology.

According to Hemi’s CTO, Max Sanchez, the technology enables users to move Bitcoin assets to the Hemi Network and subsequently to Ethereum.
