Samsung Pay Joins Forces With Alchemy Pay

A new cryptocurrency payment option is coming to Samsung Pay, as Alchemy Pay integrates its virtual cards with the contactless payment platform.
Alchemy Pay, a leading crypto payment provider with over one million registered users, has updated its virtual card service to include support for Samsung Pay on one of its virtual cards.
Announcing the news on Oct. 8, Alchemy Pay noted that this Samsung Pay integration follows just weeks after the platform completed its integration with Google Pay in September.
Samsung Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service operated by Samsung Electronics.
The new partnership allows Alchemy Pay users to make payments with their virtual crypto cards both in-store and online at participating retailers.
Alchemy Pay emphasized that its virtual cardholders can now make payments on platforms such as ChatGPT Plus, the Apple Store, Midjourney, Amazon, Netflix, Facebook, eBay, and more.
A representative from Alchemy Pay told Cointelegraph that they expect significant demand from indirect users following the Samsung Pay integration. They commented:
“We already have one million registered users on our ramp platform and 500,000 crypto card users. As we have many business partners, we anticipate more indirect users will use our product through this integration.”
Alchemy Pay isn’t the only crypto payment processor to partner with Samsung Pay.
In 2020, Samsung Pay collaborated with Swipe, allowing users to make payments from their Swipe Visa card balances.
In its announcement, Alchemy Pay highlighted its ambitious goal to continue expanding its supported payment platforms and achieving “full integration” with major card networks, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
Founded in 2017 in Singapore, Alchemy Pay already supports operations on major Samsung Pay competitors, including Apple Pay.
In 2023, Alchemy Pay’s fiat-to-crypto on-ramp added support for Apple Pay, allowing users to purchase cryptocurrencies using fiat currencies like the U.S. dollar, euro, and more.
At that time, Alchemy Pay also stated that U.S. dollar payments were available to non-U.S. users.
